The Duquesa de Cardona Hotel Barcelona occupies a historic 16th century building, formerly the residence of Catalan nobility. The building was restored in 1850 and was later modernized and converted into a hotel in 2003. The building faces Barcelona’s Port Vell and enjoys superb sunlight from its unobstructed position by the Mediterranean sea.
The hotel’s 40 rooms are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen satellite TV, free Wifi, a safety deposit box and minibar. The roof terrace offers panoramic views of the harbour and has a pool and cocktail bar.
Attractions within walking distance include the beaches of Barceloneta, the Barcelona Aquarium, the Ramblas and the Picasso Museum.
The historic 7 Portes, famous for paella, is a short walk from the hotel. Tapas lovers should consider visiting the nearby Cal Pep.
