After many years living in Chicago, I took some time off and visited colleagues in Barcelona.

Like so many others, I was smitten by the city and decided to stay. Before long, I came up with the idea of starting a blog about my experience.

I write about things to do and events in the the Catalan capital. In depth guides are another point of focus. The content aims to be useful for both locals and visitors.

I’m also working on an interactive element of the website: quizzes covering language, history and culture. For example, check out the Catalan Vocabulary Quiz.

Since the pandemic, I’ve been working remotely and exploring places like Southern Spain, Portugal and Turkey – you can see more on my blog here.
