Hike from Palamos to Calella de Palafrugell

The Camino de Ronda (GR-92) from La Fosca beach in Palamós to Calella de Palafrugell is one of the most spectacular walks along the Costa Brava. This unforgettable coastal route winds through pine forests, rocky cliffs, and hidden coves, revealing some of the most pristine scenery in Catalonia.

Route Details

The walk begins in Palamós, a lively fishing town known for its prawns and maritime heritage. The route follows the coastline northward, hugging cliffs and dipping into small coves such as Cala S’Alguer, a picture-perfect hamlet of fishermen’s huts painted in bright colors. Shortly after, you’ll pass Platja de Castell, a wide, unspoiled beach surrounded by forest and archaeological remains of the Iberian settlement of Castell.

Continuing along the trail, the terrain becomes slightly more rugged as you pass through pine-shaded paths and rocky viewpoints, with turquoise waters glimmering below. You’ll encounter hidden coves like Cala Canyers, Cala Estreta, and Cala del Crit, each inviting for a quick swim or rest.

The final stretch brings you to Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most charming villages on the Costa Brava, known for its whitewashed houses, tiled roofs, and narrow seaside lanes. Its beaches, such as Port Bo and Canadell, are perfect for a post-hike dip or seafood lunch.
