La Esquina

La Esquina (“The Corner”) derives its name from its central location on the corner of Bergara and Balmes streets near Plaça de Catalunya. Backed by British chef Alan Stewart and London barista Louis, La Esquina is a “soulful” restaurant with artisanal values and a “Brit” touch.

La Esquina -combi 2

La Esquina offers menus “from breakfast to bedtime” using healthy seasonal ingredients.

La Esquina - verduras

The midday menu changes daily and is based on combinations of the highest quality vegetables, proteins and pasta or legumes.

La Esquina - carne

The dinner menu includes dishes such as cauliflower, sage and almond risotto, beetroot salad, cod confit with celeriac and ceps, old ox bone-in ribeye steak with smoked mashed potato.

La Esquina - cafe 3

La Esquina’s barista Louis pays careful attention to the provenance of their coffee and prepares it following a well-measured ritual in his classic La Marzocco coffee machine.

La Esquina - Brunch - huevos

The weekend brunch menu includes different egg options (Benedict, royale, baked, scrambled), sandwiches (“la esquina” ham&cheese, chicken, cabbage and pickled chillies, mature Manchego and homemade chutney) and desserts (pancakes, homemade yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit). La Esquina also offers non-stop cuisine for snacking in between meals, with a menu of sandwiches and eggs.

La Esquina - ambiente 1

Photographer Elena Lopez de Lamadrid and Art Director Emilio Lekuona designed the interior by finding beauty in simple things such as limewash on imperfect walls, that change colour depending on the time of day.
