Gallito has an idyllic setting, looking out to the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches of Barceloneta. The restaurant sits at the foot of the landmark W Hotel Barcelona, known to locals as La Vella (the sail).
Grape vine leaves drape over the terrace, which is also decorated with rosemary and lavender plants. The interior is furnished with cushions made with Mexican fabrics, reclaimed wood furniture, a fishing net and travel photos. The breezy open layout gives the restaurant the feel of an upmarket chiringuito.
The menu combines Mediterranean and international cuisine, based on simple recipes with fresh high quality ingredients. Try the shrimp, squid and artichoke paella, fish tacos (with spicy herb oil, radish salad, cilantro mayonnaise) or the sea bass ceviche.
