This hike begins just off Plaça de Karl Marx, in the Barcelona district of Canyelles. The Canyelles (L3) metro stop is a short within a short walk. The trail into Collserola is the old path of Saint Lazarus. After a short distance it leads to Can Masdeu (above), a squatted social center, residence and community garden. It was formerly a hospital for leprosy patients, abandoned for over 50 years.
From here, the path continues to rise into the Serra de Collserola.
Sweeping views of Barcelona from the crest of the hills.
Looking north towards Sant Adrià de Besòs and Badalona.
Torre Baró is an unfinished hotel from the early twentieth century in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona. The hike ends by catching the metro back to the city center from the nearby Roquetes (L3) station.
