The 5-star Barcelona EDITION opened in September 2018, the latest addition to the chain of exclusive boutique hotels with locations spanning from Miami Beach to Shanghai. The Barcelona incarnation is situated next to the Santa Caterina Market, in a former office building impressively transformed by Carlos Ferrater Studio. The studio of Lázaro Rosa-Violán designed the interior, under the creative direction of New York legend Ian Schrager (co-founder of Studio 54). The hotel encompasses 100 rooms and suites, three restaurants, two bars, a roof terrace with plunge pool and a vibrant two-story lobby area.
Standing in the heart of the Ciutat Vella the Barcelona EDITION is within walking distance of a wealth of cultural landmarks including the Picasso museum, Barcelona Cathedral, and the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Rooms feature state-of-the-art beds, with leather headboards and luxury Anichini linens. Custom designed furniture is complimented by whitened oak herringbone parquet floors. Walnut panelling on the walls evokes the traditional shutters seen in the neighborhood. In addition to rooms and suites, the hotel has two luxury penthouses with their own private terraces.
Bathrooms feature white Sivec marble, brass hardware and custom-scented Le Labo products.
The Punch Room occupies the mezzanine, accessed by a marble spiral staircase. The bar offers a menu of drinks, punch and sangria served in vintage silver bowls as well as cocktails and light snacks.
The oak panelled bar includes a classic billiard table with golden cloth.
Bar Veraz features a menu by Sebastián Mazzola, former creative director of the Adrià Group. Mazzola developed the concepts behind the acclaimed Tickets and Pakta restaurants. With seating for 87 guests, Bar Veraz offers a menu that emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients. In the mornings guests can enjoy a light a la carte breakfast and for lunch and dinner the menu specializes in contemporary Mediterranean cuisine complemented by a diverse selection of local wines.
The 10th floor roof terrace has sweeping views over the historic Ciutat Vella (old town) and offers food and drinks throughout the day. The menu features light Latin-American dishes with an Asian influence.
