The Barcelona EDITION

The 5-star Barcelona EDITION opened in September 2018, joining the brand’s portfolio of exclusive boutique hotels stretching from Miami Beach to Shanghai. Set beside the colorful Santa Caterina Market, the property occupies a former office building transformed by Carlos Ferrater Studio. Interiors were created by Lázaro Rosa-Violán under the creative direction of New York nightlife pioneer Ian Schrager, co-founder of Studio 54.

The hotel encompasses 100 rooms and suites, three restaurants, two bars, a rooftop terrace with plunge pool, and a lively two-story lobby. Standing in the heart of Ciutat Vella, guests are within walking distance of the Picasso Museum, Barcelona Cathedral, and the UNESCO-listed Palau de la Música Catalana.

Rooms and Penthouses

The Barcelona EDITION Bedroom

Guestrooms feature state-of-the-art beds with leather headboards and luxury Anichini linens. Custom-designed furniture is set against whitened oak herringbone parquet floors, while walnut wall panelling recalls the traditional shutters of the neighborhood. Bathrooms are clad in white Sivec marble with brass hardware and custom-scented Le Labo products.

The Barcelona EDITION bathroom

In addition to its rooms and suites, The Barcelona EDITION boasts two penthouses, each with its own private terrace overlooking the old town.

Punch Room

The Barcelona EDITION Punch Room

Accessed by a marble spiral staircase, the Punch Room is a speakeasy-style bar occupying the mezzanine. The oak-panelled space features a golden-cloth billiard table and serves punch and sangria in vintage silver bowls, alongside a creative cocktail menu and light snacks.

Inspired by the original Punch Room in London, this Barcelona outpost has quickly become a destination in its own right. Guests can sample inventive twists on classic punches infused with botanicals, spices, and local ingredients, while the refined décor and discreet service make it a favorite for both hotel residents and city insiders.

Bar Veraz

The Barcelona EDITION Bar Veraz

The hotel’s all-day dining venue, Bar Veraz, seats 87 guests and showcases a menu by Sebastián Mazzola, former creative director of the Adrià Group. Mazzola, who helped shape the concept behind the acclaimed Tickets restaurant, emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients. Breakfast is light and à la carte, while lunch and dinner highlight contemporary Mediterranean cuisine paired with a strong selection of local wines.

Rooftop Terrace

The 10th-floor terrace commands sweeping views over Ciutat Vella. Open throughout the day, it offers cocktails and food in a relaxed, open-air setting. The menu blends Latin-American flavors with Asian influences, complementing the rooftop plunge pool and lounge area.
