Niño Viejo specializes in urban street dishes of Mexico, with delicious homemade tacos, antojitos and tortas as protagonists. The cocktail bar has an array of powerful concoctions where tequila and mezcal play a starring role. The restaurant was formed with the guidance of Albert Adrià and Paco Méndez, while chef Hugo Candeias leads the kitchen and by Pablo Andrade manages the dining room. The space is small, lively and colorful, with traditional Mexican decor.
Niño Viejo is the sister restaurant of the more formal Hoja Santa which is situated in the same building. Both are part of elBarri, the group of restaurants that the Adrià brothers opened along with the Iglesias brothers.
