Circa 1905 is a 9 room Bed & Breakfast situated on the first floor of a historic building in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample neighborhood. The owner, Mrs. Maria Paz Solar, an architect with a passion for Modernism, has worked meticulously to preserve the original features while introducing contemporary comforts and amenities.
Circa 1905 offers breakfast with fresh, seasonal products and a coffee corner available throughout the day. Guests also have access to free WiFi, a safebox, toiletries, 24 hour reception and a luggage storage service.
The living room includes carefully chosen art books for the perusal of guests.
The exterior, built along classical lines, features free-flowing stylistic touches inspired by the Modernist movement (the Catalan interpretation of Art Nouveau) with stylised plant decor, face motifs, tracery, textured glass and nature-inspired copper features.
Spacious terraces at the rear of the building.
Each room has been individually furnished and all have private bathrooms.
Many rooms have a private balcony or terrace.
Original features such as 4 meter high moulded ceilings, light wells, mosaic floors, louvered shutters, marble chimneys and period furniture recreate the world Catalan bourgeoisie of the early 20th century.
Balcony with sculpted balustrades overlooking Carrer de Provença.
A wealth of cultural attractions are within a short walk, such as Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Mila (La Pedrera) and Casa Batllo. Casa Lleo Morera, by the architect Lluís Domènech I Montaner is another nearby gem to visit. Among restaurants close by we recommend the fabulous El Nacional on Passeig de Gràcia, 24.
