Pockets BCN was opened in November 2016 by founders Marcos González and Nacho Bueno, launching their contemporary concept of sandwiches of traditional Spanish food using handmade breads. The Eixample based restaurant uses classic healthy ingredients, combining slowly cooked meats, fish and vegetables with appetizing fresh bread.
Fillings include Escalivada (smoky grilled vegetables) with blue cheese or sardine, Catalan roasted chicken (with vegetables, spices and mushrooms), Iberian beef stewed in red wine from Penedés and pork knuckle with “Catalan-BBQ” sauce (pulled Iberian pork with a unique BBQ sauce).
Along with your filling you must chose your bread: classic (bread of a lifetime, with flavor and a good crumb), soft (with a spongy bun helping to preserve the intensity of the filling) and Catalan glass (a crusty and honeycomb like variety).
A selection of craft beers are available to compliment the pockets of goodness.
