Macondo was born from the dream of a group of friends to bring to Barcelona a unique and authentic Caribbean dining experience. Situated in the Eixample neighborhood, the restaurant features a menu using delicious and healthy combinations of typical Caribbean ingredients.
The specialties at Macondo are ceviches, fresh seafood and typical Caribbean side dishes. Each one of the ceviches is based on intense citrus that match up with the tenderness of the fresh fish and the sweetness of unique fruits such as mango and tamarind.
In addition to the ceviches, traditional main courses allow you to experience the richness and variety of Caribbean cuisine. These include Delicia Macondo, Skirt steak with a beer, tomato and onion sauce, “Sinuano” rice and Cazuaela Cartagenera.
A wide selection of typical “street food” like empanadas, arepas huevo and patacones serve as appetizers. Dessert includes temptations such as passion fruit pudding, tres leches cake, guanabana foam and chocolate cake with coconut or vanilla ice-cream.
